Sea Barn Farm Camping Park

Having visited several times before, we have just returned from a lovely long weekend at Sea Barn - bank holiday Monday was particularly idyllic. It is without doubt a wonderfully positioned site with exceptional views and walks, and well maintained too. The sadness is that it was so empty. Whilst this enhanced the tranquility for us, the concern is that if the site isn't viable we might lose it in the future. Referring to the comments in some previous reviews, the campsite rules are largely appropriate - and not dissimilar to those imposed at many other sites around the country.

It is a beautiful campsite with stunning views and good facilities. Unfortunately, my experience with customer service let this campsite down. When I called to ask about my booking confirmation, the person I spoke to was extremely rude and lacked any customer service skills. Although there was an issue with my booking, the way it was handled was completely unacceptable. I was so disappointed after the call that I seriously considered cancelling our trip. The welcome at the campsite also wasn’t particularly friendly, although it was nowhere near as unpleasant as the phone call. It’s a real shame because, without this experience, I would have happily given 5 stars. I think the staff would really benefit from customer service training, especially as similar comments seem to appear in other reviews. I can’t say we will be back any time soon.

Amazing place, so peaceful. Lovely helpful staff and great shop with all essentials. Facilities are spotless and very well maintained. Great for couples and families with lovely views and helpful staff.

False advertising and disappointing experience When booking, the description gave the impression that pitches had direct sea views. We even paid extra for one, but were placed behind a bush fence where the view was barely visible, even when standing up. We also paid extra for electricity, but there was no mention of how long a lead was needed, which would have been very useful to know beforehand. On top of that, there was an extra charge to bring our dog, yet there are no facilities or allowances for dogs. They are expected to remain on leads at all times with no designated exercise area, so I don’t understand what the fee is for. The pitch itself quickly became overcrowded when more campers were placed close together, while other parts of the site were left empty. There is also a strict 10 pm curfew, with gates locked and no re-entry, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. The whole site was eerily quiet, as though people weren’t allowed to enjoy themselves. Facilities were also disappointing: the showers were cold and full of spiders, which is not what you expect when paying extra compared to other campsites. On top of that, no fires or BBQs are allowed. I understand the reasoning, but other campsites get around this by requiring fires to be raised off the ground. Without that option, evenings felt cold and empty, and honestly, what’s camping without a fire? Yet another restrictive rule that stops people from enjoying themselves. We stayed at another campsite earlier in our trip with far fewer rules, just basic common sense and a couple of signs, and it was far more relaxed. Dogs could roam within your pitch, fires were allowed above ground, and there was no strict curfew. That made this place feel even more disappointing by comparison. Finally, the pricing structure feels unfair. You pay extra per person rather than per pitch, which doesn’t feel justified for what’s offered. Overall, we left feeling misled and dissatisfied. We doubt we’ll be coming back here. I can see where other negative reviews are coming from, and honestly, it’s no surprise the place was so empty while other campsites were fully booked.
