Portland's clifftop position means the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach, and Chesil Beach lies just beyond. The village itself has a working history – the lighthouse at Portland Bill dates from the early 18th century – alongside newer landmarks like the Olympic Rings sculpture from the 2012 Games. The Punch Bowl Inn is nearby for an evening out.
Hideaway House is yours alone: a three-bedroom property that sleeps five across a king bed, a twin, and a single. The ground floor holds a living room with stone fireplace and bay window, a separate dining space, and a kitchen with gas oven and hob, plus a shower room. Upstairs are the three bedrooms. Outside, a south-facing decked garden and small gravelled area offer space to sit. You can park one large vehicle or two small ones in tandem on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all provided; heating is gas central. No smoking inside.
The area suits families exploring the heritage coast, or anyone wanting quieter days punctuated with coastal walks and local history. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
