Stour Cross Farm- Hardy Chalet

Photo: Stour Cross Farm

Hardy Chalet sits on Stour Cross Farm, a working dairy farm near West Stour in Dorset. The property is a detached chalet sleeping up to six guests, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and parking for three cars on site. It's the kind of place where you'll notice the farm around you—large animals and machinery are part of the working landscape here.

The ground floor has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with a TV, DVD player and electric fire. One double bedroom with ensuite wet room is also downstairs. Upstairs are two more bedrooms: one with a double bed and full bathroom including a bath with shower and heated towel rail; the other with two single beds and ensuite shower. The kitchen has everything needed to cook—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. Heating is electric central.

There's a shared games room and grounds with other properties on the farm, plus a private rear garden with a sitting area. No smoking is permitted inside. The chalet suits families, walkers and cyclists looking for a rural base in the Dorset countryside.

Stayed here for my 50th , last year, looks great on the website but closer inspection it is not. We were having a nice time until the Thursday when the farm next door started working ALL NIGHT, farm vehicles going back and forth ALL NIGHT LONG. Because it was quite warm in the chalet we had to keep the windows open. Couple of other issues had to pay up front for gas & electric and pay extra for the loan of a manky old BBQ , games room was not looking good either. Would not stay again

A fabulous little place to stay. Great for a weekend away with friends. Very friendly, welcoming and clean. Not great if you are scared of cows or hate flies though!
