Gillingham sits in the heart of Dorset's rural landscape, where working farms still define the countryside. Melbury Chalet occupies its own corner of Stour Cross Farm, a dairy operation that gives the area its distinctive character. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, and comes with private parking and a hot tub large enough for the full group.
Ground floor accommodation includes an open-plan living and dining area with an electric fire, plus a kitchen equipped with a hob, oven, dishwasher and all the basics needed to cook. The main bedroom holds a double bed; upstairs, a kingsize and a twin complete the sleeping arrangements. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The sitting-out area, reached by a step down from the house, gives you space to use the private hot tub—there are two further steps into the garden itself. The chalet sits on a working farm where you'll encounter large animals and machinery; children need to be supervised accordingly. A pub lies within a mile. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Stayed here for my 50th , last year, looks great on the website but closer inspection it is not. We were having a nice time until the Thursday when the farm next door started working ALL NIGHT, farm vehicles going back and forth ALL NIGHT LONG. Because it was quite warm in the chalet we had to keep the windows open. Couple of other issues had to pay up front for gas & electric and pay extra for the loan of a manky old BBQ , games room was not looking good either. Would not stay again

A fabulous little place to stay. Great for a weekend away with friends. Very friendly, welcoming and clean. Not great if you are scared of cows or hate flies though!

The holiday was fantastic the chalet was beautifully kept, and our hostess was so very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to a return visit

Amazing week at duncliffe chalet. A beautiful well equipped chalet with a lovely hot tub.. Martin and Christina were great hosts we loved watching the cows being milked and new calves being born . We would highly recommend and will be back again .
