This converted barn dates back centuries, built from local Marnhull stone and now Grade II listed. The Byre sits alone in its own grounds at the edge of Fifehead Magdalen village, near Shaftesbury, with views across the Blackmore Vale towards Duncliffe Wood and Melbury Beacon. A single bedroom with double bed and walk-in wardrobe, bathroom with bath and shower, and a living room with woodburner make up the whole property on one floor. The kitchen has a Rayburn cooker, dishwasher and all essentials for self-catering, while a sofa bed in the living room offers flexible sleeping space.
Outdoors, a large lawned garden with patio and seating faces those countryside views. One dog can stay free, provided it's kept on a lead. Parking for two cars sits on the property. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; logs for the woodburner come with your arrival. This is a proper retreat for two people or a couple plus a dog, surrounded by walking country and far enough from anywhere to feel genuinely remote. Shaftesbury and Sherborne are within reach for days out, as are Stourhead, Kingston Lacy and other major attractions, but the real draw is the quiet and the landscape pressing close on all sides.
