About Hoad Meadow Camping

Time to channel your adventurous side in the Kent Downs – Hoad Meadow Camping is a family-run, sustainable retreat set in splendid countryside where alpacas, goats, pigs and chickens roam freely. Hosts Dan, Stacey and Eva welcome guests (dogs included) to hand-feeding sessions and create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere from start to finish. With campfires allowed and picnic tables dotted about, the vibe is gloriously simple and back-to-basics, though some might find facilities a touch basic for longer stays.

When you're not soaking up the farm-life charm, Dover's white cliffs are just 25 minutes' drive away, while Folkestone's harbour and creative quarter lie 15 minutes down the coast. Historic Canterbury is an easy half-hour inland. A village shop sits 25 minutes' walk away – handy for barbecue supplies – with a traditional 18th-century pub just along from it. And if you're planning Channel crossings, both the Eurotunnel and Dover ferry port are a short drive from the site.

The owners of this place are lovely, humans and animals.. they welcomed us, helped with everything and relaxed talked to everyone. Very late back relaxed camping, with animals to look at on the quiet evenings, very family feeling camping. Facilities are clean and cleaned, toilets are unisex compost in a wood shed, showers are covered with large overhead rain showers and great temperature. Showers are outside, with a covering. Simple, clean and friendly camping. The area is covered by large roads, beat walking routes are further away. Walking to Folkestone is via roads.

The family here are so lovely. Very welcoming and friendly. The site is gated off so feels secure aswell. Our daughter played with theirs. We really enjoyed our stay. Great hut, kitchen and firepit. Thank you for the wood. They have lots of animals, our children loved it. Close to shops, pubs etc. We wpuld like to stay again. Toilets are built into an old caravan, raally cool idea the site is laid out very well, and kitchen is in a mobile kind of room, so it's under cover should you need to cook when raining. Duvets, pillows, cooking equipment all provided. We were able to book glamoing for just one night too which is quite rare amongst some sites. Thanks alot Dan, Stacey and Eva, for a lovely stay. Just home from a fantastic 2 nights camping. The site is wonderful, a small campsite, with a real family friendly relaxed feeling. No gimmicks, just back to nature camping. We loved the relaxed vibe. Clean toilet and shower facilities. The animals made our daughters trip, and she was ecstatic to take home some peacock feathers! The baby alpaca was so cute (only 3 weeks old!). The site is secure and safe for children. The family ensured everyone was happy, and were so friendly. We loved it and want to come bs k soon! Thank you for The Pollak family

£25 a night for 2 people, very chilled out campsite, owners on site. In the centre is a huge pond , it is fenced off well, but sadly it is nearly empty and and there are quite a few ducks living on it. The toilets are dreadful *sorry* and ergonomically impossible to use. I am 5ft 8 and struggled to use them. We had a nice stay but facilties were not great but it is a budget site
