Cardoness House

Dumfries and Galloway draws visitors for its blend of market-town character and access to serious countryside—hill walks, mountain biking, wildlife reserves and some of Britain's darkest skies all within reach. Cardoness House sits on the town's principal street, a substantial Victorian sandstone building that has been updated throughout while keeping its original proportions: high ceilings, bay windows and period detail. The location puts you steps from local shops, restaurants and pubs, and within easy reach of Dumfries Museum, the Robert Burns Mausoleum and Caerlaverock Wetland Centre.

The ground floor holds a living room with Freeview television, a separate dining room and a second sitting room without TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, air fryer and full-sized fridge-freezer. A separate toilet is on this level. Upstairs are four bedrooms: one with a king bed, one double, one with two singles and one with bunks (children only), served by a single bathroom with both bath and shower cubicle. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included. There is parking for three cars on site and an enclosed garden with seating.

The house suits families or groups of up to eight. No smoking inside. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
