Craigvar House

Craigvar House is a late Georgian townhouse in Castle Douglas, retaining period features but equipped with everything modern. Push open the front door and you step into an attractive hallway; to either side are the drawing room and dining room, with a small boot and coat room for muddy arrivals. At the back sits a well-fitted kitchen leading to a ground-floor shower room, and beyond that an enclosed garden with courtyard and sitting areas.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: two kingsize beds (one with an en-suite bathroom, one with a separate toilet nearby) and a double bedroom with two single beds and its own shower room. A study sits on the first floor. The second floor holds a further living space without television. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are all included; the kitchen has what you need to cook, and there's parking for one car on the drive plus garage space if needed. One well-behaved pet stays free.

Castle Douglas is a small market town with independent shops, pubs, restaurants, a theatre and swimming pool within walking distance. Carlingwark Loch and its surrounding woodland walks are moments away. No smoking inside the house.
