About Galloway Glamping
Bespoke timber cabins with huge windows frame shimmering views of Loch Ken at this family-run glamping hideaway in the heart of a Dark Sky Park. Each cabin sleeps up to six across two kingsize beds and a sofa bed, making them ideal for families, friends or couples seeking a romantic escape with the dog. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, a stylish modern shower room and a comfy sofa for lazy evenings – but the real star is the secluded hot tub on the deck, perfect for sunset drinks or stargazing under genuinely spectacular night skies.
Despite the remote feel, Castle Douglas is only five minutes away. As Scotland's official food town, it's packed with excellent eateries and shops for barbecue supplies. The location is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts too, with fishing, kayaking, cycling and walking trails all close at hand. Loch Ken itself offers watersports, while nearby forests beckon mountain bikers and hikers alike.

What visitors say
We had the most relaxing time with the kids here. The loved watching the wildlife out the windows and from the hot tub (kites, deer and an otter which they were amazed by). The cabin is so thoughtfully decorated and equipped, we couldn't have asked for more. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the chaos of everyday life.

Thanks for a memorable time. It was such a magical place to stay - peaceful, beautifully designed and set in the most stunning location. The large windows looking out towards the Loch were a real highlight! So calming to just sit and take in the view, especially with the superb sunsets in the evening. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and functional. The hosts were absolutely wonderful - Lottie was warm, welcoming and full of great local recommendations. We enjoyed our evenings around the campfire, and during the day we went paddleboarding on the Loch, explored the countryside on foot, watched the red kites being fed (an unforgettable experience!) and visited the charming town of Kirkcudbright. We didn’t get to try the hot tubs as they were installed after our visit, but we were so excited to hear about them that we’ve already booked our next stay! Can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to relax, unwind and enjoy a special getaway in nature.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Its location in this beautiful corner of Scotland was perfect for a relaxing getaway in nature overlooking the lake and waking up to birdsong of all descriptions. It’s clearly been a labour of love for the owners with lots of thoughtful touches and details within the cabin and surrounds. It’s an easy hours drive from the ferry from Belfast so we will definitely be going back the next opportunity we get.

Perfect getaway in the heart of nature – Galloway Glamping I’ve stayed at Galloway Glamping near Glenlochar many times, and every visit has been just as amazing as the last. This isn’t your average camping experience – it’s glamping (glamorous camping), where the beauty of the outdoors meets comfort and style. The accommodations are thoughtfully designed, spotless, cozy, and full of charm. The surroundings are simply stunning – rolling hills, forests, birdsong, fresh air – a peaceful escape from the noise of everyday life, yet still easily accessible. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful; it’s clear they care deeply about the place and the experience of their guests. I truly recommend this place to anyone looking for something special in nature without sacrificing comfort. Galloway Glamping isn’t just a destination – it’s an experience I’m always happy to return to.
