Kirkennan Mews

Kirkennan Mews comes with everything you need to settle in properly. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, so you can cook as much or as little as you want. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included, along with electricity. The wood burner has logs provided, and there's a welcome pack waiting for you. The bathroom has both a bath and shower, and the ground floor includes a separate shower room with washing machine.

The cottage sits on the Kirkennan Estate, 35 acres of grounds backing onto the River Urr. You get two bedrooms—a king and two singles with a z-bed—sleeping up to five people, plus your own garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. There's parking for two cars and an electric vehicle charging point. One well-behaved pet stays free. The local pub is within a mile and serves food Thursday to Sunday; Dalbeattie, with its restaurants and the nearby 7Stanes mountain bike trail, is 2.5 miles away. The Solway Coast offers coastal walks, beaches and fishing villages. A gentle warning: there's an unfenced pond, stream and river within the estate grounds.
