Ramerish Retreat
Dumfries and Galloway

Ramerish Retreat began as a stable block and retains the character of that rural heritage. It now stands in the heart of the Galloway Dark Sky Park, one of only four designated Dark Sky Parks in the western world and Britain's first. The surrounding landscape spans 300 square miles—Galloway Forest Park—with valleys, moorland, ancient woodland, lochs and crags. Red deer, wild goats and birds of prey inhabit the area; red kites soar overhead; and on clear nights the stars are visible in remarkable clarity.
The property sleeps six across three bedrooms with one bathroom. It comes as a whole to yourself, with parking on site, wifi, bed linen and towels provided. Essentials like electricity are included. One dog stays free.
The location suits walkers, cyclists and stargazers equally. Forest paths lead directly from the door. Fly fishing for rainbow trout happens on Lochanbreck Loch; pike fishing is available on Loch Ken nearby, which also has water sports, archery, a climbing wall and zip wire. A heated dog wash area with shampoo and towels sits in the garden, useful after days on the hills. A mini observatory there offers birdwatching too. The nearest towns are Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet. No smoking inside.

What guests say
Just back from a lovely relaxing week at Ramerish, Jenny has thought of everything to make this the most relaxing place to stay, grab your shopping, park up and chill out. Dogs loved having forestry walks on the doorstep and a stunning drive to the local beach. Thank you for sharing your special place with us.
