About Loch Ken Holiday Park
Tucked along the shores of Loch Ken on a working stock farm, this spacious ten-acre park pairs stunning water views with direct access to Scotland's outdoor playground. Reviewers consistently praise the friendly, attentive staff and well-maintained facilities, from the heated shower blocks to the clean family washrooms. Pitches are generous—including hardstanding waterfront spots for tourers and an extensive tent field—and the on-site shop stocks essentials when you need them.
The real draw is what lies beyond your tent flap. Launch kayaks and paddleboards straight from the park, cast for pike and perch in the loch, or explore the neighbouring RSPB marshes and Galloway Kite Trail. Mountain bikers have two 7stanes centres nearby, while the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park delivers stargazing that's among Europe's finest. The market town of Castle Douglas sits seven miles away, and watersports centres up the road offer everything from wakeboarding to archery—though with two play parks and kids' club activities in summer, younger campers are already spoiled.

The people and site are lovely. There is a little shop for essentials and a big loch to have fun on with multiple play areas for the kids. We have our own caravan to stop in but theres camping field and facilities available.

We were camping on the site. The tent field was huge and despite being busy never felt crowded, plenty room for good distances between the tents. There was an excellent play park which visiting kids seemed to really enjoy. Staff were friendly and efficient. The views down to Loch Ken were lovely. On a cloud free night the dark sky was amazing.

Second time at Loch Ken, already booked for May and going back in August next year. This picturesque campsite has everything you need, want and more, run and owned by friendly people. The highlights for us is the loch on your doorstep, paddle boarding at our leisure and you can enjoy fishing too. Cooking by our tent and enjoying a warm fire at night, with our favourite tipple and roasted marshmallows. Perfect wee shop with everything you need for your stay, including items for the kids, fishing gear and a coffee machine and laundry to do your washing if you wish. There is so much to do in the area, visit the spectacular Kites, nearby towns and other various activities and places of interest. This campsite has such a welcoming atmosphere, you will make friends easily, your kids will be running about with others at the play parks and I guarantee you will want to come back!
