About Galloway Activity Centre

Activity seekers and adrenaline junkies – here's your destination. Galloway Activity Centre sits right on the shores of Loch Ken in Scotland's southwest, offering roomy pitches with champion views over the water and Galloway Hills beyond. Whether you're planning a couples' escape, a group adventure, or determined to show the family who's really boss with a bow and arrow, the centre's winning line-up covers it all: outdoor laser combat, archery, climbing, paddle sports, windsurfing, sailing, mountain biking, and zip wires. Design your own activity package and tackle the safe, non-tidal waters of Loch Ken or stay land-based.

After burning all that energy, evening meals and breakfast are available at the on-site café, there's a TV room for chilling, and the clubhouse with showers and toilets stays open all night. With its stellar 4.7 Google rating, this is action-packed camping done right – though facilities can feel a touch basic for those seeking creature comforts.

What visitors say

We stayed in the Otter cabin, set beside its own beautiful pond, surrounded by swallows, red kites and wonderful tranquillity. The location is stunning and perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. The cabin itself is quite basic but has everything you need for a short stay. Be prepared for midges, though – we found it difficult to open the windows because of them, so bringing a fan is a good idea. Unfortunately, cleanliness could have been better. We felt the need to wash all the dishes and even the dish bowl with hot, soapy water on arrival, as they felt greasy. On the positive side, sachets of UHT milk, salt, pepper and sugar were provided, which saved could have saved us having to pack those essentials. The information provided before arrival was a little confusing, as reception advised us to bring everything we might need. Overall, we enjoyed the peaceful setting and wildlife, but at £250 per night we felt the accommodation was overpriced for what was offered. For that reason, I’ve given it 3 stars.

Spent a really really enjoyable day kayaking, mountain biking and doing some unexpected archery. The activity centre is situated in an absolutely beautiful part of galloway with stunning views and scenery all around. All the staff we encountered were wonderful & friendly and a huge shout out to Callum who was our instructor for the day. Thank you Callum for your patience, encouragement & just general all round being a top fella we had a great day!! Kindest regards Danny, Leanne & Miller

We have just spent 2 fun filled days at the centre, as a family of 5, with a variety of activities. The weather was mostly against us, the wind literally 🤣 but we still had a fantastic experience. Special shout out to Ray the instructor, he was great, very encouraging and spent time explaining and demonstrating things to us, over both days, Funny, cheeky and all round great guy. We also had Sam on the ropes activity, who was great with all participants! The boat tour was amazing too, the views, the information shared and of course the high speed part, thourgherly enjoyed by all. What a wonderful, idilic location, we will absolutely be returning to enjoy again, but checking the weather forecast 🤣 Great weekend making memories. Thanks 🙂

We stayed in the Osprey for 4 nights, and also had our intimate wedding whilst here. Richard and Adam were brilliant, and on hand to help with anything we needed. The views are something you won’t find anywhere else, the accommodation is immaculate & the whole weekend was amazing. A massive thank you to Richard for allowing us to have our day here & accommodating us so well. There was a massive range of activities available which we didn’t have time to try, but plan on returning to make the most of it. Thank you all again 🤍
