Rosebank Cottage works equally well for a couple after peace and quiet or a small family wanting room to spread out. The two bedrooms sleep four: one with a double bed, one with two singles. There's a bathroom with bath and shower, and the whole place is yours alone. One well-behaved dog stays free, and high chairs and cots are available if needed.
An 1800s cottage that's been thoroughly updated, it retains original details like cornicing and shutters but comes with modern essentials—superfast broadband, a dishwasher, wood burners in both the kitchen/dining room and living room, and oil heating. The bedrooms have bay windows overlooking the garden and farmland. Bed linen and towels are organic cotton. Parking is on site, and there's bike storage for exploring the area.
Outside there's a front garden with wildflowers and a bird hide, a side terrace for eating al fresco, and an enclosed patio. A sloping rear garden has a bench; note there are ten steps down to it. The property sits in the coastal village of Borgue, near the Solway coast, surrounded by open countryside. No smoking indoors.
