Swallows comes with everything you need to settle in straight away. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The living space includes a woodburner (logs provided), 32-inch television with Freesat and DVD player, and a dining area. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and superfast broadband are all included, along with a welcome pack on arrival.

The property is a single-storey conversion with one bedroom containing a kingsize bed and a shower room. There is parking for two cars on site, an enclosed garden with seating and furniture, and no smoking inside. It sits on a quiet lane with views toward farmland and the owner's landscaped gardens. A pub is two miles away; shops and restaurants are five miles off in Kirkcudbright itself, an artists' town built around its harbour with a programme of summer events. The wider area is designated a Dark Sky Park and ranks among the world's top stargazing locations. Beaches, woodland, hill walking and watersports are all nearby. One dog is welcome.
