The Duchy
Dumfries and Galloway
The Dumfries and Galloway coast draws walkers and artists in equal measure, and The Duchy sits perfectly placed for both. This wing of a larger house occupies grounds with views toward the sea, within reach of beaches, the National Scenic Area, and hill walks that ripple inland. Kirkcudbright, the harbour town famous for its artist community, is a short drive away, with its high street and annual events—including the summer Tattoo—drawing visitors year-round.
The property accommodates four people across two bedrooms, each with a zip-and-link bed that can be separated into singles, and their own televisions. Both bedrooms have an ensuite or nearby bathroom. The ground floor holds a sitting room with wood burner and TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: oven, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and everything else a self-catering kitchen needs. Wood for the burners is included, as are electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi. The private hot tub in the garden is a genuine draw on cool evenings.
A lawned garden with seating, parking for two cars, and full privacy as a standalone rental complete the picture. Note that stairs are steep and narrow.
