A lovely peaceful location with wonderful views, however the site is still under development and there was some noise from construction but it wasn't intrusive. Friendly and helpful staff. The Spacious clean and airy 4 berth cabin with decked area to the front and rear. Master bedroom is ensuite with shower and toilet and a small double bed. Kitchen fairly well equipped (no microwave). The second bedroom is 2 single beds suitable for children. The lounge area is comfortable with plenty of seating. Nice touch of a welcome box with the essentials along with a fresh pint of milk. We were blessed with dry sunny weather when we stayed and we sat out on the decking in the evening this was spoilt by the dust kicked up by vehicles from the temporary limestone road surface which coated my car with dust and made us retreat inside with our hands covering our drinks. I guess the only solution to this is to pave the road with asphalt. The nearest pubs and services are in Dumfries approximately 20 mins drive away. Enjoyable stay and a great place to start your exploration of this beautiful area of Scotland.

A really relaxing and comfortable stay at Landal Barnsoul in the Orka 1.0 Spa lodge. The setting is beautifully peaceful and quiet — waking up to birds in the morning felt genuinely calming. The lodge itself is finished to a high standard, with modern décor throughout. The staff were also able to decorate the room for a celebration which was amazing. The staff were very helpful, which added to the overall experience. We didn’t manage the longer scenic walks due to the weather, but even a stroll around the park felt tranquil and well kept. A couple of minor downsides — The heating system takes a little getting used to, but once set up properly it works very well. The cinema room was closed during our stay, and the access roads are a bit bumpy, so best driving slow when entering and leaving. My tip would be to take slippers or thick socks — the lodge has hard flooring which can feel a bit cold, especially in the morning 🥶 Overall very nice would recommend 👌🏾

Absolutely love this place. Thoroughly enjoyed our Thursday to Monday which is the first time doing those days. This is our second visit and just as good as the first. Was great to just relax and chill. The wooded area is good for walking the dog. We will be booking again. The accommodation has everything you need in it.

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Elle who was nothing but kind, friendly and professional. There had been a problem with the lodge originally booked however we were informed that it had all been sorted and they had upgraded us to a larger lodge. The lodge was clearly a new build and was very modern. The living space was large and open plan which was ideal for a girls trip away. The only thing I would recommend adding is a few washing pods as it would have been inconvenient for us to purchase a whole pack for a 2 night getaway. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all lovely and clearly had been well cleaned pre arrival. The heating system was very effective and necessary in these cold months and was easy for us to use. Can’t fault the lodge. There are some lovely walks around the site and despite construction being advertised there was no disturbance even midweek. Thank you to Elle and the Landal Barnsoul team for being so kind and accommodating. We are already talking about returning!
