About The Inn on the Loch

A hearty breakfast and a well-stocked bar set the tone at The Inn on the Loch, a hotel in Crocketford near Castle Douglas. The restaurant serves meals throughout the day, with kids' meals and packed lunches available for those heading out to explore, and there's outdoor seating for warmer evenings alongside drinks brought straight to your room if you'd rather stay put.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and family rooms are available, with many looking out over the loch itself. Free WiFi, 24-hour reception and luggage storage cover the practical side, and pets are welcome. It's worth knowing that some of the apartment-style rooms have been reported as less well kept than the main hotel rooms, so it's worth asking about the accommodation type when you book.

Free on-site parking makes it easy to come and go, and there's fishing nearby along with a pub, restaurant and other eateries within reach for anyone wanting a change of scene. Drumlanrig Castle lies within striking distance for a day out, making this a practical base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway.

Staff are fabulous👌. Location by the water 💧 is amazing. But down side not an awful lot for young children to do. But there is a park not to far away from hotel Seings roundabout climbing frames..definitely get a room with a balcony and waterside view. Fabulous food too. Most definitely dog friendly too.

We had a fantastic time. Staff lovely, we were in King bothy which was private and spacious, free parking, just off main road making it easy to go to Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie. Breakfast and evening meal were superb,. Well done to owners, staff and chef

After a weekend trip abroad went pear shaped we booked here for a night as an alternative. I have to say when i turned off the main road to the car park my heart sank. Right on the busy road and looked like a lot of work going on. BUT what a cracking place. Once inside no traffic noise in the rooms or the bar. The staff were outstanding. The food was amazing. The rooms and cabin are beautifully decorated very clean and modern. Of course there is also the view across the loch from the rooms and cabin. A group of 7 from age 9 to 80 and not a single complaint. I'm already planning a return visit. Top rated place.

Easy to find on our travels, exceptional view over the Loch.. Was given room no 8, A well appointed and comfortable room with a party trick up it's sleeve, open the double doors to your private balcony directly over the Loch, with peaceful and serene vista's over the the water. The bed, which was large and comfortable, is situated to take in the view of the Loch, a very pleasant experience to wake too... Restaurant in the main building, although having some construction and repair work, shares the same amazing views over the water. Breakfast was fantastic, a selection of cereals, yogurt, croissant's and juices were available for you to help yourself. Staff served coffee and tea promptly and cooked your breakfast to order, which was made with good quality ingredients and was delicious... All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time staying here, and next time we're touring Scotland, won't hesitate to book again. Many thanks.
