Rolling countryside surrounds this two-bedroom cottage at Hillcrest Country Park, on the edge of Richmond in County Durham. The village setting puts you within reach of the Yorkshire Dales and heritage market towns like Barnard Castle, with scenic driving routes and walking country nearby.
Ivy Cottage is arranged on one floor and sleeps four. You get a living room with electric wood burner and Smart TV, a dining area leading to a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a king-size bed, one with a double), and a bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. One well-behaved pet stays free. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered; a welcome pack arrives on check-in.
Outside there's a front garden with seating and private parking for two cars. The whole property is yours alone. Note that smoking is not permitted indoors.

Stayed in one of the cottages after a very last minute booking on good Friday after our original booking elsewhere was deemed unsuitable by ourselves. The cottage was lovely and warm and it appears that a lot of the oven ware and utensils had just been renewed. Well equipped in all aspects the beds were especially comfortable. The one negative? The internal doors wouldn't close on the latch. Therefore, when ever the wind got up they banged against the doorframe. The site though busy was still very quiet and tranquil. Well presented and maintained.

I Recently Had a really great stay at Hillcrest Country Park in the bowes hideaway, Everything was fresh and well looked after , and the views are honestly great. It’s super peaceful and just a nice place to switch off for a bit. Will definitely be back! 🌟

Lovely private feeling retreat. Very Nice hosts. A memorable trip for all the right reasons. A lot of effort went into setting this up ,many thanks to Kate and Ed Breakfast on the decking in the sunshine was great, supper on the patio with the gas heater a real treat. You will love it here.

Had a lovely week in the Ivy Cottage. The location is peaceful and quiet, yet it is convenient for the Dales or the North Yorkshire Moors. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The only thing that caused concern was a drain in the shower being unable to handle full flow. Otherwise everything was fine and exceeded our expectations.
