Rose Cottage is a one-bedroom cottage on the ground floor, located within Hillcrest Country Park near Richmond in County Durham. Built on a single level, it consists of an open-plan living and dining space, a separate kitchen, utility room, double bedroom and bathroom. The cottage sleeps two and comes with its own parking for two cars, a front garden with seating, and direct access to the wider park grounds.
The living area has an electric wood burner and Smart TV for evenings in. The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering, with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The bedroom contains a double bed, and the bathroom has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, along with a welcome pack. One well-behaved pet stays free. The property does not permit smoking.
This works well for couples looking for a quiet base in the countryside. Richmond and its Georgian town centre are nearby, as are the market towns of Barnard Castle and Bowes. The Yorkshire Dales are within reach for walking and exploring. The surrounding park offers immediate access to grounds and outdoor space without needing to leave the property.

Stayed in one of the cottages after a very last minute booking on good Friday after our original booking elsewhere was deemed unsuitable by ourselves. The cottage was lovely and warm and it appears that a lot of the oven ware and utensils had just been renewed. Well equipped in all aspects the beds were especially comfortable. The one negative? The internal doors wouldn't close on the latch. Therefore, when ever the wind got up they banged against the doorframe. The site though busy was still very quiet and tranquil. Well presented and maintained.

I Recently Had a really great stay at Hillcrest Country Park in the bowes hideaway, Everything was fresh and well looked after , and the views are honestly great. It’s super peaceful and just a nice place to switch off for a bit. Will definitely be back! 🌟

Lovely private feeling retreat. Very Nice hosts. A memorable trip for all the right reasons. A lot of effort went into setting this up ,many thanks to Kate and Ed Breakfast on the decking in the sunshine was great, supper on the patio with the gas heater a real treat. You will love it here.

Had a lovely week in the Ivy Cottage. The location is peaceful and quiet, yet it is convenient for the Dales or the North Yorkshire Moors. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The only thing that caused concern was a drain in the shower being unable to handle full flow. Otherwise everything was fine and exceeded our expectations.
