About Travelodge East Grinstead
For travellers who just need a straightforward, well-placed bed for the night, Travelodge East Grinstead does the job without fuss. Set in the town centre, it puts shops, restaurants and the station within easy reach, making it a practical choice for business stopovers, station-side travel, or a night away before exploring further afield.
The hotel has 72 rooms across four floors, all en-suite with air conditioning, though this doesn't always keep rooms as cool as it should. Rooms are kept clean and the beds are comfortable, and there's a lift for guests who'd rather skip the stairs. Accessible rooms and drinks in room are available, and staff on the 24-hour reception are consistently helpful and friendly.
There's a bar and restaurant on site, along with breakfast for those who want to start the day without leaving the building. Pets are welcome, and an electric vehicle charge point is available. Parking isn't on site but King Street car park is a one to two minute walk away. Beyond the hotel, East Grinstead offers pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus a golf course for those with time to spare.

What guests say
This was a lovely stay we judged it before we stayed as the place is literally right next to a wetherspoons and its a bit roudy on a Friday and saturday ,but in the rooms you cant really hear it unless you're rooms right outside it! We stayed on the second floor and the rooms have air-conditioning thats very nice and has windows that open with a safety lock it has a elevator to the floors as the reception is the second floor , and it also has stairs

I would like to state that this isn't so much the hotel itself but Travelodge as a company. My wife and I booked a room in December for a wedding we were attending in February. We are expecting a baby so booked a Travelodge to save some money. The day before we were due to stay, we couldn't find the booking reference on email, so panicking slightly we called the hotel to check that they did have a confirmed booking. They told us we did NOT have a booking. Luckily, they had another room available so we booked that. When we arrived at the hotel and checked in, the lady at the desk said that they had 2 rooms in our name. We explained what had happened the day before and she was sure that customer services would be able to help us as it's clearly a mistake. Well. Customer services is a joke. Have refused time and time again to refund the room, even though we were told by them originally that we didn't have a room. Have responded to emails with information that doesn't even relate to our problem (clearly too many complaints) and as soon as l happened to mention we were a same sex couple, have stopped responding completely to my emails. As I have said in my emails to them I would understand their no refund policy, if this was actually our fault, but we were told we didn't have a room. I have asked them to show me our mistake and again, no response. They have however had the audacity to ask us to review them and ask if we'd stay again. The hotel itself was ok. Clean and quiet. But I will never step foot in a Travelodge again. Is it homophobic? I hope not. Does it have terrible customer service? Absolutely. Should have spent the money on a decent hotel instead of trying to save money for the incoming birth of our child. Disgraceful.

Very basic place. The standard of rooms and cleanliness isn’t up to 3 stars. More like a 1 star. The woman at reception today was very unhelpful. My taxi came to pick me up and she tried them away in a very rude way even though she was given my name and room number. She had shirt bleached white hair in her 50s about 175cm tall. When I asked her about it she said she wasn’t paid to deal with taxi drivers. She also left several full bin bags in reception which smelled awful. She also looked very unprofessional at all times I saw her during my stay. When I rang the bell at reception on 13/5/26 she refused to come out and help.

Good sized room, comfy beds and friendly staff. No wardrobe, no laundry options or cook for yourself. Has a desk and a kettle. No microwave. The company doesnt make enough money apparently to offer free wifi for more than 30 minutes; which i find disgraceful given how may rooms the accommodation has and what they would earn in bookings. Also the showers are tiny and have a curved shower curtain ensuring that all water that is stopped by the the curtain ends up on the floor outside the shower where there is no floor waste so your bathroom floor will be wet for the entire stay, as a luxurious inclusion to this, the bathrooms have no working exhaust fans, resulting in the need for signs in the shower warning you to take caution of being in damp areas and also informing guests to keep the bathroom door closed during and after showers to ensure the fire alarm doesnt trigger, which just further results in a constantly moist bathroom. But dont stress the exhaust fan is installed in the wall. Its just for display purposes only. End result is high rating for good nights sleep and comfortable sleep but very low for shower, internet access and bathroom functionality
