The Hive is a converted barn at Fieldhouse Farm, on the edge of Skirlaugh village in open countryside between Hull and the Yorkshire Wolds. It's a whole property to yourself, built around a galleried first floor and a spacious ground level where living, dining and cooking all happen in one flowing space. The bedroom is upstairs under the rafters, naturally lit and calm, with an ensuite shower room attached. A private enclosed courtyard comes with the booking, complete with a two-person hot tub and garden furniture.
Cooking is properly equipped—electric oven, induction hob, microwave and slow cooker—so you can prepare meals or simply graze. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included. The essentials for two people are accounted for: there's a travel cot and highchair if needed, parking, and a bike store. The village has a pub and shop within walking distance. This suits couples seeking a quiet break; the coastal routes and countryside walks of the Wolds are nearby. Smoking is not permitted inside.

We stayed in the Rooster accommodation, and it was absolutely stunning. The location was perfect and very easy to find. The room was luxurious, with everything we needed, and the hot tub was the best part — so relaxing! The dogs were very welcoming, and the owner was a lovely lady who gave us fabulous advice and lots of helpful information about local walks, cafés, and pubs. We would love to come back again in the future. Thank you for everything!

Had an amazing break…. Such a lovely place, with everything you need.. including hot tub. Plenty of walks, places to go to eat or drink, including Coffee Bean Cafe, definitely worth a visit. A lovely couple on hand to give any info needed.

Beautiful cottage in a quiet location but within easy reach of lots of places to go & visit. Everything you would need for a break away, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. We stayed in The Roost with friends & was fabulous. Cooked, played games & had days out. Very highly recommended. We shall return.

Excellent location, beautifully appointed. The Roost cottage, while it will accommodate 4 persons, it is a little cosy and you need to be good friends. The hot tub is excellent.
