We decided to go here for a roast dinner, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, we didn’t book it was a Sunday and busy, anyway the staff had a table for us, we ordered, we both had the steak pie roast. One of the best I’ve had and I’ve had a few. 😊 I will certainly be going there again. Very reasonably priced and very filling. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

Friends of ours vist regularly, so I've been going to try it for ages. Very clean. Good welcome. Saturday lunchtime, from arrival to receiving meal was an hour!! I was starting to get a little agitated, but did say to my Husband it's not so bad if it's worth the wait! I wouldn't say it was busy either, not dead, but certainly not 'busy' Cannot fault the food VERY tasty. Salad dressing (lettuce was a little brown) otherwise spot on. If I'm going to niggle, constructive advice, NOT a complaint & certainly didn't affect experience, we both needed a steak knife & had to ask for one. I would expect (having worked in the most popular local pub) it was basic training/common sense. White wine enjoyable. Guinness zero not right, did politely say it was odd, no questions asked, they poured it away & deducted it. Yes it's out of the can, so was told by who I assumed to be lady in charge it 'can't be off' something wasn't right though! For some reason they put it through a draught?? So whether the pipes needed flushing not sure, but it wasnt pleasant, however deducted, fair enough. As our mains were SO tasty & enjoyable, we had dessert, that not so, sadly. Chocolate fudge & ice cream both a let down, not being rude, but seemed cheap, totally different league to main meals. Also liqueur coffee a deflation. So mixed experience. I do wish we'd stopped at the mains. I wouldn't rule out visiting again & certainly wouldn't say don't go. I think having worked & dined at the very popular local pub you do recognise finesse & attention to detail that's all. Personally I appreciate knowing.

We had a meal at the Railway Inn on Saturday 28th March 2026 for my mother-in-laws birthday. We were a party of 16 with a baby. We pre booked our meals a couple of days before we went for the meal. On the day there were a couple of minor issues but nothing that was not put right straight away when we made the staff aware, so we had absolutely no complaints. The service was amazing the staff were very friendly, attentive and on the ball. The food was absolutely amazing not a single complaint from any of the party, even the baby! The restaurant is clean and inviting! The experience we had was amazing, the staff are a credit to the pub and the food is a credit to the chef! Thank you for a lovely evening, we would definitely recommend a visit is paid to The Railway!!

Sunday lunch today at The Railway Inn, was so enjoyable, haven't been for a while, but will definitely be back again before long. The staff were efficient and welcoming. The food excellent, and served a smaller portion for those of us with small appetites. Very good value for money as well. Thank you,
