The Blue Texel

The Blue Texel is a hand-built shepherd's hut designed for couples seeking a rural retreat. Its interior combines open-plan living with a wood burner at its core, along with a sofa bed, kitchenette, and Bluetooth speaker. An external shower room sits 20 yards away. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; logs for the burner cost £10 per box after the initial supply. Initial logs are supplied.

The hut occupies a working farm on the outskirts of Burton Fleming in the Yorkshire Wolds, with a lawned garden, patio, private hot tub, gas barbecue and fire pit. Parking for one car is provided. A short drive reaches the coast at Scarborough, the North York Moors to the north, and York to the west. The landscape here inspired David Hockney's paintings, and the dramatic coastline offers views worth capturing. Smoking is not permitted, and the property is for adults only.
