The Swaledale
East Riding of Yorkshire
This shepherd's hut stands on a working farm where the landscape rolls gently towards the sea, five miles from the beach. The East Riding countryside here is quiet—fields and hills dominate the views—though Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington are within a short drive. A pub is a quarter-mile away, and there's a shop on site for basics.
The Swaledale is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom property sleeping two, arranged on a single floor. You get a combined living and dining space, a kitchenette with fridge and cooking facilities, and an en-suite shower room. There's a lawned garden with patio furniture, a fire pit (logs included to start with), a BBQ, and a private hot tub. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. The hut does not have a television, but there is a Bluetooth speaker, and you can park one car on site. No smoking is permitted, and the property is not suitable for children.
After a walk or cycle ride, the hot tub is the main draw for an evening unwind. The farm setting means you are genuinely away from things, though not cut off—the basics you need are close by.
