About da Vinci Hotel

Howard Square in Eastbourne is a quiet, handsome corner of town, just back from the seafront, and it's here that da Vinci Hotel occupies a 19th-century building given a thoroughly modern makeover. The contrast between the period exterior and the bright, contemporary interior is part of the appeal, along with an in-house art gallery that gives the place a bit of character beyond the usual hotel fittings.

Rooms are colourful and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in room, and family rooms for those travelling with children. Breakfast is included, there's a bar on site for evening drinks, and practical extras such as a lift, luggage storage, laundry service and meeting rooms make it easy for both leisure guests and those on business. A garden adds a spot to sit outside when the weather allows.

Eastbourne's seafront is close by, along with pubs, restaurants and entertainment for evenings out. The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, and golf, fishing and watersports are all within reach for anyone wanting to fill the day before heading back to Howard Square.

Very nice hotel, a stones throw from the sea front. I booked a single, but was given a double, which was great and such value for money. Kettle and tea/coffee, TV, which did struggle sometimes to keep signal, but I guess being on the coast has an effect. Breakfast was lovely and very well cooked, the chef was very obliging with whatever you wanted from the menu. It has bar and two colourful lounges to sit it in the sun. The walls are covered in paintings and pictures of local scenes, which you can buy too. The manager was a smashing chap, very nice and helpful. I had a wonderful short stay there and would go again, definitely.

Lovely member of staff greeted us as we arrived and was very friendly and helpful, the room and the bed was clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent being right next to the beach and 5 minute was from food and drinks. The only negative aspects about hotel I found to be a personally irritating was the door at the main entrance was slammed at all hours of the night waking me up on multiple occasions, second to this would be the fridge in the room, it would click on throughout the night and was far too noisy to be placed in an area where you're sleeping, the final issue was the bathroom window being permanently closed and unable to be opened, during the hot weather this room was very uncomfortable to be in and needed ventilation. I would recommend it for the price but I'd keep these negative aspects in mind if any future visits.

The Davinci Hotel has been our go to hotel when visiting Eastbourne for several years now. The rooms are comfortable and the staff excellent. A big positive is the location, really convenient for the theatres, town centre and the beach. Oh, and the breakfasts are pretty good too...We'll definitely be back again soon..
