About The Big Sleep Hotel Eastbourne

The Big Sleep brings a simple, design-focused approach to budget accommodation in central Eastbourne, occupying a converted building close to the railway station. Its bright, minimally furnished rooms are a deliberate contrast to the town's more traditional seafront hotels.

The location suits visitors arriving by train who want to drop bags quickly and walk into town, with Terminus Road's shops and the seafront both within ten minutes on foot. There is no restaurant, but the surrounding streets offer a wide choice of independent cafes and pubs.

Rates are among the lowest of any full hotel in Eastbourne, making it a popular choice for weekend visitors, walkers passing through on the South Downs Way, and anyone prioritising location and price over sea views.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and I’d especially like to thank Andrew at reception. He went above and beyond to help with every request I had, always with a smile and a genuinely positive attitude. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his professionalism and kindness made a real difference to my stay. Andrew is a real credit to the hotel. I’m attaching a photo of his name badge with his permission so he receives the recognition he truly deserves. P. S: attached video with a view from my room❤️

A great value and family friendly hotel. We had a lovely spacious room with a sea view for a much cheaper price than other hotels. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but delicious with lots of continental options. Great location on Eastbournes seafront with everything we wanted to see and do in walking distance. Staff were friendly & welcoming. Some of the decor is dated but they are in the process of decorating the rooms. Ours was freshly decorated but had finished later than expected so we had to check in late and the cleaning had been rushed because of this. However, we still loved our time here and would stay again.

Really good value budget hotel that gets the important stuff right. Booking on their own website gets better rates and a free dog stay. It's well located, staff are helpful, room was clean with comfy bed and decent shower. Continental breakfast is complimentary. On the minus side the decor is tired and dated - furniture chipped, curtain held up with cable ties, soap dispenser broken, no bedside lights or power sockets. For us these are easily outweighed by the plus points, we would stay again.

Great value hotel in the old fashioned Victorian style. Very friendly receptionist who was also very helpful. The room was very spacious and although well worn, everything worked. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The continental breakfast was great but the coffee machine is very slow and would be a problem if the restaurant was busy.
