About 30 Castle Street Deluxe Apartments
Walk into 30 Castle Street Deluxe Apartments and you get a self-contained space rather than a standard hotel room: a kitchen for cooking your own meals, an en-suite bathroom, and drinks provided in the room. It's an adults-only property, geared towards guests who want privacy and a bit more independence than a typical stay offers, with 24 hour reception on hand and free WiFi throughout.
The address puts you on Castle Street in Edinburgh, within the City of Edinburgh area, close to pubs, bars and restaurants for eating out, plus entertainment options nearby. Edinburgh Zoo is within reach for a day out, and golf, fishing and watersports are all listed as available in the surrounding area for those wanting to get outdoors.
There's no parking available at the property, so guests relying on a car should plan accordingly. Otherwise, this is a straightforward base for exploring Edinburgh, with the practicality of a kitchen and en-suite facilities making it suited to longer or more independent stays.
What guests say
We are currently staying at 30 Castle Street. Today is the 4th day of our 5-night stay, and this is the second time we have been left without hot water. There is no effective customer support. The only contact number they provide is a local Edinburgh phone number with no WhatsApp or Telegram. For international travelers, calling a local UK number is inconvenient and often expensive. The first time we lost hot water, I sent three emails and nobody replied through any of these channels. We eventually had to find a way to call the Scottish phone number ourselves just to get the issue resolved. Now, once again, we have no hot water. This completely ruins our day. When you're traveling, you already have plans and a schedule, and dealing with problems like this is the last thing you expect. Today, August 3, 2026, we woke up without hot water again. If anyone from the property sees this review, please fix it immediately. On top of that, during the four days we have been here, our towels have never been changed, and the apartment has never been cleaned. If you're considering staying here, I strongly recommend looking for another place.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Unless you are a single traveller (travelling light) who’ll spend little-to-no time in these rooms, it’s well within your best interest to find somewhere else. This place has the vibe of “all for profit building developer-owned apartments” Some noteworthy details.. - As soon as you arrive to the front door, you’ll have all the struggles trying to self-check in using a system that just does not work. - You are given the WhatsApp chat for the staff, however good luck getting a timely response out of them (there is a phone number, but whether or not you have an international SIM that allows for basic calls.. who knows if it actually is any better). Not hard to give a “I see your message, customer. Please give me X amount of minutes” - PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: After given the entrance code to the building, you could be guided to the WRONG ROOM, and after explaining this MORE THAN ONCE (I.e “you are room ”, one-two times after initially asking), you’ll be given the right room number FIVE FLOORS UP. Hope your cardio can manage the lack of elevator. - The main lounge room / kitchen is sizeable to keep your luggage out without the risk of tripping over it, but good luck with the room lighting during nighttime hours (unless you use the TINY space available in the bedroom) - The bedroom will leave you asking “ummm.. what?”. No bedside tables in the 20cm gap either side of the bed to put anything, despite the generous power sockets that are supplied either side of the bed. The room lighting is surprisingly nice.. why couldn’t it be like this for the rest of the space? - Only one side of the bed is accessible by foot; a large wall heater(?) blocks access to the other side. - The bathroom is manageable, if you’re fine with a wobbly toilet seat (you almost slide off with the seat while doing the uhh.. “paperwork”) and a VERY small sink. The shower head almost breaks as you try and adjust the different water pressures to suit your cleaning needs, and the shelf designated for hair/body wash + conditioner isn’t fastened properly so there’s the risk of the full bottles crushing your feet. - The heated towel rack is a nice feature, but is hardwired into the wall constantly in the “ON” position. Be careful not to burn yourself while trying to dry off from the shower, and stay hydrated as it creates a 24-7 sauna-like space - Other responses to reviews over a year ago have mentioned that rooms will be improved for future stays with the above dot points in mind - DO NOT TRUST THE REPLIES THAT ARE GIVEN ON THESE REVIEWS

Great for those traveling light as you will use stairs to 2nd floor. The room may be small, but it serves its purpose and stepping outside treats you to an amazing view of the castle.

The internet connection and heating weren't working. I tried countless ways to contact them, but they didn't provide a satisfactory response or reply to messages. Sarah is a disaster; I recommend replacing her with a bot, which would be much more effective. The check-in process is poorly explained. It's extremely expensive and the service is terrible.
