About Aparthotel Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile

The Royal Mile is Edinburgh's historic spine, running through the Old Town and lined with closes, pubs and shops, and it's here on Canongate that Aparthotel Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile makes its base. Being within walking distance of the city's main attractions and transport links makes it a practical choice for anyone wanting to explore without relying on taxis or buses.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and kitchenettes fitted with a fridge, microwave and stove, so guests can put together their own meals rather than eating out for every meal. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, along with air conditioning, though this doesn't always keep pace on warmer days. The building has a lift, free WiFi, a gym, a games room and outdoor seating, plus laundry and business services for longer stays. Pets are welcome, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.

Beyond the door, the surrounding area offers pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, with golf, fishing and watersports available nearby for those wanting to venture further afield. It suits travellers who value a central, self-catering base over a full-service hotel experience.

I loved my 3 nights stay and could not fault anything at all. Great location less than 10 mins walk from Waverley train station, on the Royal Mile but in a quieter section half way down from the castle, with most touristy sights easily reachable on foot. I even walked to Dean Village, Stockbridge and Leith from there. The spacious studio room was spotless and the very comfortable sofa bed was already made to my pleasant surprise as many reviewers had said that was not the case. The kitchen area is equipped for simple meals preparation, with 2 hot rings and a microwave with grill/oven options. There is even a dishwasher with washing tablets provided. It was nice to see washing up liquid and sponge under the sink - who wants to buy a whole bottle for a few nights?! The bathroom is a decent size with a fold away washing line in the shower space. There is also a safe, an iron & board, a hairdryer, a coffee machine, a kettle, a huge TV, a big fridge with freezer box, so really everything one would need. The ambient temperature in the room remained constant. I did not use the wifi so can't comment on it. All my interaction with the staff at Reception have been positive - a really lovely bunch of people. I would very happily stay here again for the right rate off season.

Great area, however, we had no toaster, teapot, we had Togo twice to ask for a pot, very few utensils. We had no info, and asking x3, still no one explained stuff. There should be at least salt and pepper included. The stove was very complicated. No air circulation in the room. There is potential for improvement. I truly wanted to cook my own meals. I refuse to toast bread for 8 minutes in a microwave, Canadians do not cook in microwaves, it's for warming up leftovers. Please be specific on your website. No phone to talk to reception, drains in room are in need of cleaning, shower floor is quite slippery, too much money for what we got, the laundry room was great. The staff at desk should Coe to room with new guests, it took us till the day we left to know towel racks were not connected. A lady knocked on y door, I had no clue what she wanted, NO ENGLISH, we also found a pair of used underwear stuffed behind the Towel Rack.

Perfect Royal Mile Location with Unbeatable Morning Charm Staying right on the Royal Mile at this aparthotel was an absolute highlight of the trip, especially in the early morning hours. Even more than the hotel itself, I loved the stunning morning views and the rare chance to walk down the historic cobblestones at dawn before any of the tourist crowds arrived. The hotel itself holds up its end of the bargain well; the rooms, while on the smaller side, are clean, cozy, and perfectly comfortable. The food selection is entirely appropriate for this style of hotel, and the staff are incredibly friendly and nice throughout your stay. It’s a wonderful, welcoming base for anyone looking to experience the heart of Edinburgh. Close to Edinburgh Castle and Mary King's Close.

The location of the hotel was very close to the train station and the beginning of the Royal Mile. The apartment itself was well equipped and comfortable and spacious enough for 3 adults. I appreciated the ample storage with 3 closets to put away luggage so they are not in the way. Though they do not clean the room, it was easy enough to request additional supplies from the front desk. There were only 2 washing machines though for the whole hotel and we didn’t use them, would be nice to have one in the room.
