What guests say
Absolutely awful. The service was bad. After flashing the toilet it took a good 15 minutes to refill so the next person could flash. The first time we informed the reception they told us that it is a floor issue. To change floor they asked for extra money. Second day we go in the morning looking for a manager "we don't want a better room, just a normal flashing toilet". Alison, the manager didn't even say good morning. She went ahead and said that it is a problem of the area. She was rude and lied about the matter since her colleague clearly said that it is a floor issue. We paid more than 170 pounds per night and we stayed for 2 nights. Very disappointing. We stayed in several travelodge hotels during our trip and all of them were excellent. This one was pure disappointment. Im addition, the bathroom was in a bad condition. Not worth your money. Go somewhere else even if it's a bit further from the center.

Absolutely awful value for money. £180 a night. They failed to even give new towels on the first night - no one came in to the room at all despite the tag on door asking for “top up”. Went to reception and was handed a pile of towels. No room cleaning done at all for the total 3 days we were there. Hotel looks incredibly dirty and uncared for from the outside. Graffiti and filth windows. I think this was the worst hotel experience I ever had and definitely the poorest value. I felt robbed by the whole experience. Emailed customer complaint and heard nothing back. They even refused to hold onto luggage on day of check out and sent us to a newsagent up the road. Would never stay in a Travelodge again and suggest you don’t try!

We stayed here for a couple nights at the start of our trip and one night at the end of our trip. The location is stellar, just off of the royal mile. Easy walking to restaurant, cafes, tram and train station. Rooms were clean, quiet and good temperature. Breakfast was good standard Scottish buffet breakfast, we only opted in for the first morning. Staff were good. We prebooked early check in on the first visit, which is highly recommended if you are arriving early.

I cannot thank the team at Edinburgh Central enough, especially Debbie, for going above and beyond to help us during a very stressful situation. After checking out and traveling back to London, we realized that we had accidentally left behind an extremely important office laptop at the hotel. With our flight back to India just two days away, we were understandably very worried. We called the hotel at around 12:20 PM and explained the situation. Debbie and the team immediately sprang into action. Knowing that the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed service had a critical cutoff time, they acted incredibly quickly, locating the laptop, carefully packaging it, and arranging shipment by around 12:40 PM, ensuring it went out before the deadline. Their promptness, efficiency, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help made all the difference. The laptop arrived safely, everything went smoothly, and what could have been a major disaster was completely resolved thanks to their efforts. Exceptional customer service like this is rare, and it deserves recognition. A special thank you to Debbie and the entire Edinburgh Central team for your kindness, urgency, and outstanding support. You turned a very stressful experience into a positive one, and we are incredibly grateful. Highly recommended!
