About Braid Hills Hotel

Braid Hills Hotel suits visitors who want to be near Edinburgh without staying in the thick of it - drivers who value free on-site parking, golfers and walkers drawn to the surrounding Pentland Hills countryside, and anyone happy to take the bus in for sightseeing rather than walk everywhere. It's less suited to those wanting a boutique city-centre base, but works well as a comfortable, good-value alternative just outside it.

Rooms are en-suite, with room service and in-room drinks available, though it's worth knowing that some rooms are better kept than others, so it's fair to expect variation in condition. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast, free WiFi, laundry service and luggage storage. There's also a garden, meeting rooms and business facilities, plus a bridal suite for those hosting a wedding, which the hotel also caters for as a venue.

The setting brings views over the city and the Pentland Hills, and public transport connections make it straightforward to reach central Edinburgh, including Edinburgh Zoo. Nearby, guests will find golf, fishing, walking areas, and a scattering of pubs and restaurants for evenings when staying local makes more sense than heading into town.

This is a really good value hotel with lovely staff. Clean, warm, comfy. Great options for food, nice restaurant, bar and service. Good breakfast. Other facilities short walk away. Ubers come quickly for getting in and out of Edinburgh. Very good value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

had a wonderful stay at The Braid Hotel in Edinburgh. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the room was comfortable and well-maintained. The whisky tasting experience was a real highlight—informative, well presented, and a great way to enjoy Scottish culture. Having a couple of extra days to relax before returning to work made the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel provided a calm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. Edinburgh itself is a beautiful and historic city, full of charm and character. Overall, a fantastic experience—I would highly recommend both the hotel and the city

Foremost is the bathroom. It is too small. You simply cannot stand inside with slider closed. You take shower in a impossible manner. We understand that hotel has no lift but even there is no intercom. From third floor, for your tooth brush you have to up and down from third floor to reception and also pay for it. We were told that check out time is 11 am. We were ready by 10.30 am but how do we advise reception from 3rd Floor in absence of basic communication. At 11.15 am the receptionist come to ask vacate room rudely with threat to charge for delay. The room were suffocating

Lovely hotel with traditional charm and character. Great location in attractive hilly area in outskirts of the city, but with easy access to city centre by bus (or taxi). Plenty of free car parking. Our room ws very spacious and comfortable and had a lovely view. Good restaurant and bar.
