About Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile

Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile offers straightforward, air-conditioned rooms across seven floors, each with in-room drinks and the option of an accessible layout for those who need one. With 259 rooms in total, there's a consistent standard throughout, and the lift makes moving between floors easy. Luggage storage and laundry service are on hand for anyone breaking up a longer trip to Edinburgh.

Downstairs there's a restaurant, bar and snack bar, plus outdoor seating for warmer days, and breakfast is a particular strong point here. Staff are consistently described as helpful, and the rooms themselves are kept clean and well maintained. It's worth noting that some guests have felt the pricing doesn't always match what's on offer, so it's worth weighing up against the location.

That location is the real draw: right on South Bridge, moments from the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle, with plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. There's no parking on site, so it suits guests arriving on foot or by public transport rather than by car. Pets are welcome, making it a practical base for exploring the city centre.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located and only a few minutes away from the Edinburgh Waverley station. It's next to a busy road but our room was very quiet and you could barely hear the traffic. Our room was clean and the housekeeping was provided every day. The hotel seemed very busy during our stay and the breakfast room was very busy every morning as well but I feel like it was being managed very well by the hotel staff. Overall, we had a great stay and we would stay here again.

Friendly welcome at reception. Good sized room but unfortunately we were above a night club, so didn't get to sleep until after 3am, on the first night. Bathroom is in a pod, with a step. A little quirky but fine. Breakfast is standard quality with reasonable choice. They did provide gluten free toast on request. Good location off the royal mile. Expensive for what it is, but I guess you're paying for location.

Perfect location. The rest keep your expectations reasonable. If you want true value then you’re probably best to pay double somewhere else. This is pretty basic for the cost, but is super convenient location. Staff at reception very friendly. Breakfast was decent & did a solid job. Room is fine. Bathroom is a bit below par, plasticy, no ventilation. It’s fine, but don’t spend any more time than sleeping there. Our biggest issue was that we stayed Saturday & Sunday night. Sunday absolutely fine - good night sleep. Saturday we were kept awake by a local nightclub until 3am. The same repetitive bass/trance music. Paying a lot for the city but that’s the going rate

I would like to say a big thank you to Lisa from the Front Office team. From the moment we checked in, she was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have rarely come across a member of staff who was not only so attentive but also took the time to explain everything in detail and recognised our Accor membership, which made us feel truly valued. On our second night, I asked if it was possible to move to a room where the windows could be opened slightly. Lisa immediately arranged another room for us and even had our luggage transferred while we were out, making the whole process completely effortless. The staff at both the bar and breakfast were also exceptionally friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The hotel's location is fantastic—right in the heart of the city and within easy reach of everything. The only downside is that the rooms are starting to look a little dated and would benefit from some refurbishment. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this hotel again.
