About Le Monde Hotel

Walk into a room at Le Monde Hotel and the first thing that stands out is the space: rooms here are generously sized, clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and free WiFi as standard. Some guests find themselves given a complimentary upgrade on arrival, adding a bit of extra polish to a stay in one of the hotel's 18 rooms. Lifts serve all floors, and luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures.

Downstairs, the hotel has its own restaurant and bar, with breakfast served on site, and the atmosphere throughout is lively and stylishly done out. Staff are friendly and attentive, though service can slow down at busier times, worth bearing in mind if you're in a hurry.

The address itself, on George Street in the City of Edinburgh, puts guests within easy reach of the city's pubs, bars and restaurants, with plenty more eating and entertainment options nearby. Edinburgh Waverley station is under a mile away, making onward travel straightforward, and Edinburgh Zoo offers a further outing for those with time to explore beyond the city centre.

Location and room were nice. Breakfast served starting 8 am. We asked if someone can prepare the take out breakfast, as we had to leave at 7.30. We ask 2 members of the staff. They forgotten to pass the message. No one was aware in the morning of the request (I understand that it might not be fulfilled, but I am referring to passing the message only)

We stayed in the Tokyo Jr suite, and it was a great choice! It was a little odd having no door on the shower room, and the option of the fogless window beside the tub, but we adapted easily. The single beds are also something to get used to, but from what I've seen around Edinburgh, this is quite normal. Otherwise, the room was very nice! I read some other reviews about the noise from the nightclub. We could hear the beats, but it did not disturb us in any way. It is definitely a party on a Friday or Saturday night, the rest of the week is very quiet. Location could not be better. Very good central location to reach every destination easily, a tram stop down the street, and great restaurants we may not have discovered if staying in Old Town. My only disappointment was the food options for a higher end place. Although there are numerous places in the area that cater to celiac safe options, including cross contamination, Le Monde is not one of them, despite advertising GF options. Nonetheless, we had no trouble finding our fave spots steps away. Highly recommend Le Monde!

Great location, especially for guests that are new to Edinburgh. Small and boutique for sure. Rooms have some interesting character however it’s time for a soft goods redo as the painting in the rooms and some tile work needs attention. My strong suggestion is that the front door be much more secure. It’s wide open whenever we returned to the hotels at all times of the day. You should have a key card entry system to gain access to the lobby, especially at night. Overall a fun and very helpful staff throughout our three night stay.

My daughter took me here on Saturday and we were met by Carla who found us a wee table just behind her desk to enjoy a cocktail and glass of Prosecco. Great atmosphere and staff were happy to look after you. We will be back.
