The George Hotel has operated in the centre of Montrose since 1814, housed in a Georgian building on George Street a short walk from the High Street and the railway station. Twenty-five en-suite rooms keep a traditional, comfortable feel while offering the amenities expected of a modern stay, including free Wi-Fi.
The hotel's restaurant focuses on locally sourced Scottish produce, and its bar and function areas regularly host weddings and celebrations alongside everyday dining. Dogs are welcome both in bedrooms and in parts of the restaurant, making it a popular stop for owners travelling with pets.

Loved it here! We stayed 6 nights and were able to walk to quite a lot of the locations we wanted to visit. If not it was a quick Uber to get where we wanted to go. Rooms are comfy and we were able to get rooms right next to each other. Food is excellent in the restaurant downstairs. We also paid for the club experience and felt it was well worth it for the convenience as well as the delicious (hot, made to order) breakfast downstairs, afternoon tea and snacks, and evening drinks and snacks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will return!

In a nutshell it is everything you would expect from an IHG Hotel. Excellent Service from the Doorman to the Bartenders to Reception to The Concierge. Very pleasant stay. Will definitely be back. Can’t wait.

Amazing hotel at a great location. Walking distance to everything in the city including a short 5 minute walk to the Scott monument, St. Andrew Square Garden, Waverly train station and bus station (for tours). Super helpful staff and concierge staff, which can not do enough to make your stay great. Rooms are quiet, very spacious and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and will stay there again. The attached cafe and restaurant are great choices, grab a quick breakfast at the cafe, their cinnamon swirls are delectable.

Beautiful hotel in a great part of the city. We did run into a situation during our stay, but management assisted us and it was made right. We are very appreciative for their attention. Also an employee, Mr. Boris, was a fantastic overall person and wonderful to work with and talk to at the property.
