Not much bang for your buck! The rooms were rough around the edges. Peeling paint, broken furniture, broken hair dryer, broken door lock. The list goes on. No AC? It’s Europe, so kind of expected. No elevators? Hey, it’s an old building. But windows that can’t be opened during a heatwave, not cool (literally). We managed to open one window about 6 inches (though it had a plate of emergency glass that didn’t allow any air in. Of course, two of us slept on the least comfortable pull out couch you can imagine so there was no sleeping that night anyway (unless your spine is conveniently already in an S shape). I’m sure it was nicer once upon a time and maybe if you get a reallly great deal and don’t need the sleep, the bedding and towels were clean and the water pressure and temp were nice. It just needs a little TLC and it could be great!

Got breakfast, bacon sandwich and breakfast tea both were good. Small space but pretty, nice host/server. Not very busy but took awhile to get check to pay. But still positive time 😊

Best Scottish breakfast. Reasonably priced compared to other venues. But great quality and fantastic service.

Booked the room for 4 nights, but left after one. The bathroom had a really strong sewage smell which permeated into the room, and we struggled to sleep the first night. The odour was so bad that we didn't even want to use the bathroom. Messaged the admin, who basically denied that there was any odour, (like we imagined it!) and that because we left of our own accord, we weren't entitled to a refund. Not sure how this hotel is classified as a 4 star when it doesn't have any amenities - no lift (we had to carry two large suitcases up 3 flights of stairs), no AC Would definitely not recommend this hotel - stay away!
