The Greenbank Hotel

Fantastic! We stayed here a week; 3 nights in a basic room and 4 nights in the family-size room. Both were great! The basic room (room 223) was very modern and VERY bright with a wonderful bay window and sitting area and also large window in the spacious bathroom. The family room (227) was a bit more dated and had one window with a small balcony - but it was a much larger room with couch, additional sitting area and also had a mini fridge. Both rooms were lovely. We ate at the pub 3 nights and it was such a great atmosphere and delicious food/drinks! The breakfast (included) was really fantastic with lots to choose from and was a wonderful way to start the day. While everyone we encountered was great, I'd like to have a special shout out to the following people: - Tom leading the crew at breakfast was a phenomenally hard worker and incredibly attentive and kind. - Sam at breakfast was also so very attentive and she really made us feel special each day. - Sam at the front desk was also fantastic, very professional and kind and helped us with a few requests including our room switch/upgrade. - Sid in housekeeping was a real pro and turned around our room cleaning quickly but with real care and made everything perfect. 10/10 we'd absolutely recommend this hotel.

What a fabulous weekend spent at The Greenbank Hotel - thank you. First up the staff were absolutely amazing. I booked 2 rooms and reception made the whole process so easy and offered unique deals to enhance the experience. We were taking my 91 year old Mum away. The Hotel proved a perfect choice with everything on the doorstep. The whole atmosphere and genuine welcome was impressive. All staff gave their best. The food choices were fresh, beautifully cooked and expertly presented. The whole experience was relaxed, efficient and hugely enjoyable and for a cost well below expectation. Very impressive with knock-out views. Would love to stay again. Mark.S

I stayed at this hotel with my sisters recently in the deluxe rooms, due to myself being disabled and needing a walk in shower. Staff are very willing to help, but not always getting it right. The room was spacious and the bathroom was modern, but the cleaning throughout the room and bathroom was not of a high standard. Carpets in the rooms and in the corridors were disgusting. No one explained that due to where the rooms were located that it would be an extremely long walk, which was absolutely exhausting for me, even with sit down breaks whilst going back & forth, all that was explained when booking was that there is about 8 steps to the lift. If we had known this, we would have booked elsewhere. We had afternoon tea, which unfortunately was not good value for the money, we have had much better for the same price. We had problems with the door lock to one of the rooms which we had to wait a long time for the maintenance man to come and repair. All the chairs in the restaurant are filthy. The notice of allergens is placed by the bar, which you wouldn't see unless you went into the bar area, luckily we did not order anything that would have caused us a problem. This should also be placed in the actual restaurant. The food was average, could have been better. The views were breathtaking. Overall it was not an enjoyable experience.

Amazing views, always polite staff 10/10 on this front. Unfortunately the only small let downs were the kitchen extractor by our window which meant we could smell all the cooking with the window open, a bit of noise from a water pump going and the room did have some dust around the place. I must stress this isn't major things and are just little niggles but for the price you would generally expect a bit more. The car parking and captains club for £40 per night was rather expensive for what it is although it does off piece of mind, just a bit costly for any length of stay onto of the room price. That said, staff, location, food etc were all absolutely A1 and cannot fault a single thing! The complimentary hand wash and shower products smelt amazing 😍
