About The Relish
Folkestone's clifftop Leas promenade and the Creative Quarter's galleries and independent shops are both within easy reach of Augusta Gardens, where The Relish occupies a Victorian townhouse. It's a small hotel with just 10 rooms, each individually decorated rather than following a standard template, giving the place more character than a typical chain stay.
Guests get a full breakfast each morning, along with a restaurant and bar on site for evening meals and drinks. The garden and terrace offer a spot to sit outside, while free WiFi, air conditioning and drinks in the room cover the practical basics. There's also a small gym, meeting rooms, and the hotel takes on weddings, with porter and concierge services adding a bit of polish to the stay.
Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, and the surrounding area has pubs, restaurants and other eateries within walking distance for evenings out. It suits those wanting a base close to Folkestone's seafront and cultural quarter without needing a large hotel.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved our stay at The Relish! Laura made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. She is genuinely kind, thoughtful, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the views were beautiful, and every detail made us feel at home. Breakfast was a real highlight—the best full English breakfast we’ve had in England! Thank you, Laura, for making our stay so special. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend The Relish to anyone visiting Folkestone.

Exceptional service I seldom give hotels 5 stars, but the exceptional service and friendly staff really made this hotel stand out for me. Raj made us feel welcome and his attention to detail is a cut above the rest. Our room clean and although on the small side, it was newly decorated and lovely. Breakfast was great and the dining room is not overcrowded. We really enjoyed our stay here and will most definitely be back.

5 stars deserved solely for Raj's service. He went above and beyond to ensure mine and my family's stay was excellent. Location is lovely, barely a 5 min walk from the coast. Rooms were also lovely, a good size, nicely decorated and a nice home feel to it all. Breakfast, could not complain at all. All in all myself and my family very much enjoyed our stay at the Relish, and will return if in the Folkestone area again. Thanks again to the Raj and The Relish team!

Check-in was smooth, although 4pm felt a bit later than most places. Unfortunately, the room itself was quite disappointing. The TV was very outdated, the curtains didn’t close properly, and the bathroom was cold with a broken shower door. The shower never got warm, which made it an unpleasant experience, especially given how cold the bathroom was. In contrast, the bedroom heating came on very early and was uncomfortably hot, with no easy way to balance the temperature. The walls are extremely thin — we could hear our neighbours having sex very clearly, and the noise continued until around 3am, making it almost impossible to sleep. It also seemed like the hotel was understaffed, with only one person handling both check-in and breakfast, which didn’t give a great overall impression. That said, we do want to thank the owner for sorting out our parking — that was genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, aside from that, the stay fell well below expectations.
