Ben Nevis lies within easy reach of Gowan Brae Bed & Breakfast, making it a practical base for walkers and climbers, while Fort William town centre is under a mile away for pubs, restaurants and shops. The surrounding area also offers golf, fishing, cycling routes, watersports and other entertainment, so there is plenty to fill the days beyond the mountain itself.
The B&B itself keeps things simple, with three plainly furnished en-suite rooms and views out towards the mountains. Breakfast is included, and guests can help themselves to drinks in their room. Reception is staffed around the clock, which suits early starts for hillwalking or late returns from a day out.
There is a garden to relax in, free Wi-Fi throughout, and free on-site parking, useful given the property's location on Union Road just outside the main town. It is an unfussy, well-placed option for anyone planning to spend most of their time outdoors.

The place was very cozy and clean. The breakfast was generous, with a wide variety of choices. Since we left early, Ann kindly prepared a breakfast to go for us. It was a short walk from all restaurants and bars.

This is the very best Bed&Breakfast we experienced - ever! Everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms are so neat, clean and cute decorated. This house have a very own very original and beautiful atmosphere. The lady who gave us the keys and served our breakfast was very nice and kind to us, we felt very welcome here. By the way, this was the most spectacular breakfast we had in our complete time in Scotland, it was awesome delicious! Thanks for two wonderful days in this beautiful house, we'll be back next time we're around here.

This B&B is the best among the 40 hotels, hostels, and B&Bs we stayed in while traveling to Ireland and Scotland. It is very close to the west highland way terminus and there are many good seafood restaurants nearby. Ann is very kind and provides necessary local information to travelers. In particular, the breakfast is better than what you get at a 4-star hotel. The bathroom and toilet in the room were super clean. Highly recommend

Ann was an excellent host during our stay. Comfortable, clean room with all the facilities, recommendations, snacks, and drinks we could've wanted. Breakfast provided was a surprising highlight of each day. Vegetarian and pescatarian options provided.
