About Rook Lane House
Rook Lane House occupies a Grade II listed townhouse on Christchurch Street West, built in 1604 and once home to the poet Elizabeth Rowe. The house has been carefully restored to combine its original character, including four-hundred-year-old elm floorboards in one bedroom, with modern comfort across its three ensuite rooms.
Breakfast is a particular strength, cooked to order using locally sourced and largely vegetarian-friendly ingredients, and served in a house that feels genuinely personal rather than run as a conventional hotel. The property is adults-only and offers free private parking, unusual for a townhouse this close to the centre.
At just over four hundred yards from the middle of Frome, Rook Lane House suits couples wanting a quiet, characterful base for exploring the town's markets, shops and restaurants entirely on foot.

What guests say
We had the best ever B&B experience here. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with some welcoming touches. The bed was comfortable and desipte being on a main road, we both had a good night's sleep. Claire was the most delightful host; charming, helpful and welcoming. Not the most extensive breakfast offering but adequate. Cooked full English was perfect. The house has a lot of history, which Claire is happy to share with guests. Private parking is provided. We'd definitely go back, and happy to recommend to friends

What an absolute gem of a bed and breakfast!!! It is so beautifully decorated with care and love. Its history is preserved in the old priesthole in the dining room and the architecture. The room was so clean, warm and cozy with stunning decor, a very comfortable bed and such beautiful furniture and finishing touches. Claire, the owner, greeted us like old friends and nothing was too much trouble! She is such a warm and welcoming host who cooks a mean breakfast. I have never felt so at home anywhere else! Cant wait to find a reason to go back!!

We had a 2 day stay here when we attended longleat safari park a few weeks ago. Straight forward trip to longleat and was about 15 min drive. Rook Lane House was absolutely beautiful. The owner Clare was very accommodating and lovely. Would 100% recommend to stay here and I would stay here again without hesitation. Thank you for a lovely few days away.Kind regards Teri and Dave x
