🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Burn View

Photo: Burn View

Blaydon Burn stretches for over a mile through 247 acres of woodland and grassland, and Burn View sits on its edge with direct access to walking through the trees. Derwent Walk Country Park runs nearby through the River Derwent Valley, connecting several countryside sites between Swalwell and Rowlands Gill. Newcastle upon Tyne is only a few miles away. The house itself is split across ground level, with a living room featuring a 70-inch smart TV, and a kitchen-dining space where a pool table converts to a dining surface, with table tennis and a dartboard for games on rainy days.

Six guests sleep across three bedrooms, each with a zip-and-link super king bed that can split into two singles on request. One bedroom has an en-suite shower room; there is also a separate walk-in shower room. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. Essentials including bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are covered. A hot tub on the decking overlooks the garden and trees; this is available for private use on request and at extra cost. Off-street parking accommodates two to four cars. The property is no-smoking.

Such an amazing place. Beautiful walks on the doorstep, a stones throw away from Newcastle. The pool table, dart board and hot tub is the the cherry on top! 5*'s.

Absolutely perfect! The place was spotless, stylish, and full of thoughtful touches. Great location, comfy bed, great hot tub and Steve and Nichala were prompt to reply to messages. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely time staying at Burn View. It was like home from home and the kids loved the darts, pool and table tennis along with the fantastic got tub in the nicely secluded garden. The house was large, very comfortable and was close to everything we needed including the metro centre. We would definitely recommend staying at the house and will be booking again in the future. Many thanks for the welcome pack which was really appreciated after a long drive.

Lovely accommodation with everything provided you need. Great hospitality and prompt support when required. Hot tub, darts and pool table enjoyed by all. Ideally located for access to local attractions, walks, exploring the coast line. Thank you for a lovely break in your house.
