Canny little soft play which we had to ourselves. Little one liked it. Can tell its abit old but does the job.

Good leisure centre with everything you need, child does gymnastics here and enjoys. There is a small soft play upstairs which is reasonably priced and always quiet whenever we've visited. Centre is a little run down but has everything you need.

Newburn Activity Centre is a hidden gem. It's popular with five-a-side teams, parents of budding gymnasts and local gym goers, but it's pièce de résistance has to be its criminally underutilised climbing wall. It has 13 lines, seven of which have bottom ropes in place and six have Trublue autobelays. There's even a ledge to practice abseils and multipitch change overs. It baffles me that I'm often the only person in there, especially as it's significantly cheaper than every other climbing gym in Newcastle and Gateshead.

Went for a session on the climbing wall. Had to do an induction first which was thorough and done quickly. Very impressed with the wall .. several routes all of which offer varying levels of challenge. Single climbing session is only 7 quid for a few hours. Well worth the money. I will be going back soon
