The whole space is yours alone: a single open-plan room with a sofa bed that converts to a double, a small kitchen with hob and oven, and a shower room. Glass doors open onto a private enclosed garden where you can sit, dine, or simply watch the stars. One car can park on site, and one well-behaved pet stays free of charge.

The carriage sits on an 18th-century farmstead among three other holiday properties, with the Derwent valley visible across the fields and the National Trust's Gibside Estate within reach. From the garden gate, a meadow path leads down to the Derwent River itself. The location puts you close to the Derwent Walk and the C2C cycle route, with miles of walking and cycling paths through the surrounding countryside. A nearby village has a café and small shop. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included. The property does not permit smoking.
