Stable House is a converted farm building on an 18th-century farmstead near Saltwell Park. You arrive into a single-storey layout where the main living spaces flow naturally together: a living room with smart TV, then a kitchen and dining area opening onto a patio and lawned garden. All three bedrooms are on the ground floor too—a kingsize with an ensuite shower, a zip-and-link super kingsize, and a smaller room with two bunk beds. There is a separate bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking: electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee machine. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The enclosed garden has a patio, furniture and a fire pit. There is private parking on site; an electric car charging point is available at additional cost. One well-behaved pet can stay for free. No smoking inside.
The farmstead overlooks the Column of Liberty and the Derwent valley, with the National Trust's Gibside Estate nearby. The Derwent Walk and C2C cycle route are within reach, and a meadow path leads down to the river for swimming and fishing. The nearest village has a café, shops and a takeaway, all within easy walking distance.
