About ibis Styles Glasgow Central

Blackout blinds that actually do their job are the small detail that stands out at ibis Styles Glasgow Central, a 137-room hotel set across six floors in the heart of the city. Rooms come with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room and a comfortable enough setup for both business trips and city breaks, with family and accessible rooms also on offer.

The hotel has its own restaurant and bar, alongside breakfast service, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving in, though parking itself is via chargeable nearby options that need booking in advance. Luggage storage, laundry service, free WiFi and business facilities round out the practical side, backed up by staff who are consistently described as friendly and helpful.

Location is a strong point, with the train station and Glasgow's main attractions within easy reach, plus plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. It's a straightforward, well-run base for exploring the city rather than a destination in itself.

I enjoyed the hotel, staff and even the restaurant staff they have there. All very nice and welcoming. They also are very extremely helpful and when a problem arises they solve it in less than 10 minutes. The only thing I dislike is that the shower/ bathroom needs a need clean because it has mildew stains even on the ceiling but I assume it’s from poor ventilation in that room. But all in all I love it. I wish I was closer to more restaurants but it wasn’t far it just seemed further because I’m not used to the weather. Which isn’t the hotels fault. I highly recommend others to choose this location for a stay

During my stay at ibis Styles Glasgow Central. While the hotel has a pleasant design and initially made a good impression, my overall experience was unfortunately affected by several issues. The air conditioning in my room was not functioning, despite being switched on and adjusted. There was no noticeable airflow or change in temperature. After reporting the issue, a manager attended the room and suggested moving me to a smaller room, explaining that the air conditioning would work more effectively in a smaller space. Unfortunately, this did not address the fact that the system in the original room did not appear to be working properly. Although an alternative room was offered, it was smaller than the room category I had booked and paid for. When I asked whether another room of the same type was available, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked. However, I later noticed that the same room category still appeared to be available through the hotel’s booking system, which was somewhat confusing. In addition, the shower water pressure was very weak, and I noticed that part of the shower fixture appeared to be damaged. These should not occur in a guest room and raises concerns about maintenance standards and give the impression that the room may not have been fully checked before being assigned. After a long day of travelling, I had hoped for a comfortable and restful night, so dealing with these issues was disappointing. While the staff responded to my request, the overall handling of the situation and communication could have been more reassuring and empathetic. At check-out, I was asked about my stay and shared that I had not been satisfied with the previous night. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up or acknowledgement, which felt like a missed opportunity to address the concern or leave a more positive final impression. Overall, while the hotel has potential and a good location, greater attention to room readiness, clearer communication, and a more empathetic approach to guest concerns would significantly improve the experience.

Well priced hotel in a good location for exploring Glasgow for a few days. The room decor is based around Glasgow bands as is most of the hotel’s decorations. Reasonably sized rooms at acceptable prices within 5 min of Glasgow Central Station. Staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet is limited in selection but absolutely adequate and is restocked often. The bar has a moderate but decent selection of cocktails and other drinks, with, again, friendly staff. Try to get a room a little higher up in the hotel since due to street layout, the 1st floor is basically ground floor in the back of the hotel. :)

The lady who checked us in was very helpful and gave good suggestions when we asked about dinner recommendations. The room was clean, but not enough towels were provided, although that was easily fixed. The complimentary Tunnock's Tea cake was a nice touch. The shower pressure was decent too - often times hotel showers can be quite weak and a bit too cold, but I was impressed with this shower. Breakfast was the only problem - there were a limited number of tables and unfortunately those that were suitable for our party size were dirty (needed plates and cutlery to be cleared away), or were already occupied. I appreciate that it was a busy time of day, but there was one table designed for 6 people that had just one man sat at it, and another similar sized table with just two people. It would be better if staff sat people to avoid that problem. Aside from that, breakfast was very tasty and there was a good selection for a Scottish breakfast - myself and my companions were well fed! Check-out was smooth and simple. I'd definitely be happy to stay again.
