About The Alamo Guest House
The Alamo stands at 46 Gray Street, a short residential street facing Kelvingrove Park in the West End. The park and the art gallery are directly across the road, which puts one of Britain's best free museums about three minutes from the front door.
Accommodation is graded into suites, superior rooms and standard rooms, spread through a Victorian terraced house with the period details left intact — cornices, marble fireplaces, tall windows. Furnishing leans towards antique rather than contemporary, and rooms at the front look out over the trees.
It is a four-star guest house rather than a hotel, so expect a personal welcome and a good breakfast rather than a bar or a gym. Kelvinhall Subway station is a few minutes' walk, the SEC and OVO Hydro are about twenty minutes on foot along Argyle Street, and the Finnieston restaurants are closer still. Parking on the street is generally available. Booking is handled through the guest house's own online system.

What guests say
We had a wonderful stay and couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience. A very special thank you to Annette, who helped organize a surprise for my husband on a truly special day for us. She went above and beyond, coordinating seamlessly with an external vendor and taking care of every detail. Her exceptional service elevated an already meaningful occasion, and we are so grateful for everything she did. The hotel itself was equally impressive. The service throughout our stay was outstanding, our room had a beautiful romantic Victorian charm, complete with a gorgeous clawfoot bathtub that made it feel extra special. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start the day. We left with wonderful memories and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and a charming, romantic getaway.

Beautiful building, tasty breakfast and friendly staff! We loved the area as well, great for pubs and restaurants, nicely situated next to the park. We had a room in the basement (Harris) and it was quite small (not enough space for two open suitcases) and also dark. From that perspective the price is quite steep for what you get. Also good to note is that the property seemed to be in high demand with elderly Americans; they were quite demanding and we could overhear them wanting to change rooms during breakfast and also took over the seating area. This may not be to everyone’s liking.

Classy boutique guesthouse in a GREAT location. Tucked away on a quiet street, close to the park and all the west end has to offer, we adored sitting for afternoon tea and overlooking the tennis courts. Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations. Lots of choices for breakfast. Highly recommend for a unique experience!
