About Ullswater Inn
Ullswater Inn suits families wanting a base with proper facilities as much as walkers after a comfortable spot to return to after a day on the fells. With 36 rooms across four floors, there's room for couples, groups and families with kids, and the presence of an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa/sauna gives the place more to offer than a typical fellside inn, especially on a wet Lake District afternoon.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and drinks laid on, with family rooms available for those travelling with children. A lift serves all floors, and there's luggage storage for anyone arriving straight off a walk. The restaurant and bar cover breakfast, kids' meals and packed lunches for the day ahead, and the garden and outdoor seating make the most of the mountain views on a clear day. Pets are welcome too.
Glenridding and Ullswater Lake are close by, with walking and cycling routes leading straight from the door, plus fishing, horse riding and golf within reach for a change of pace. Additional pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby mean evenings don't have to be spent solely at the hotel. On-site parking is available, though it comes at an extra charge.
