Great pub with great food and good choice of drinks! Been here a few times now and always enjoyed it. A little bit of a walk from the campsite bit worth a visit. Service is always good with a friendly atmosphere.

Great traditional English pub with a super menu, friendly atmosphere, good selection of beers and dog friendly. We had 3 course lunch - delicious. Chefs special starter of black pudding with Cumberland sausage and peppercorn sauce outstanding. Special thanks to the host Stephen for his efficient and friendly service.

We had a perfect meal here after a long walk up the lake and would highly recommend a visit. I had the pie chips and veg which was lovely with plenty of meat in the very tasty pie, my daughter had the beef lasagna which was a very generous portion and served with a large slice of garlic bread. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Giving the pub a lovely atmosphere.

We visited this pub twice during our stay in Patterdale. I was a little anxious based upon some previous comments, but I have to say the food was excellent. The roasts, burgers and chicken burgers were all excellent and had that homemade touch and portions were generous too. The welcome from different bar staff each night was noteworthy too. I’d have preferred more interesting beers than Wainwrights or Black Sheep but appreciate others might not. The view outside was spectacular too
