About The Inn On The Lake
Look out from The Inn On The Lake and there's water in one direction, fells in the other - this hotel occupies a genuine lakeside position on Lake Ullswater, with the surrounding mountains forming a backdrop to the gardens. It's a setting that does most of the work, but the hotel itself is built to make use of it, with en-suite rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a lift for easier access throughout.
Guests get free WiFi, drinks available in the room, and breakfast included, with 24 hour reception on hand for anything else. The garden gives extra space to sit outdoors and take in the lake and mountain views, and free on-site parking is provided for anyone arriving by car. Pets are welcome, which makes it a practical base for those travelling with a dog.
Beyond the grounds, the area is suited to an active stay: walking and cycling routes, fishing, watersports, golf and horse riding are all nearby, along with pubs and restaurants for evenings out. It's a straightforward base for exploring Ullswater and the wider Lake District, on the doorstep rather than a drive away.
