What visitors say
Booked the reindeer hill climb tour in advance. We met at the visitor center and they directed us where to meet the guide for the start of the tour. The visitor center has a paddock with a few reindeer for anyone visting without a tour. We drove to the meeting point and from there hiked to the field with the reindeer. It was not difficult, even though I am out of shape (15-20 minute walk on a dirt path and a bridge. There are some uphills and downhills. You still need proper footwear and any other clothing items depending on the weather/season (they will tell you the requirements when booking). The field has a wooden pathway but can be boggy and uneven with slight incline. There was a wide range of ages with both children and adults. The guide gave us the ground rules before we proceeded into the field. We were able to feed one reindeer from our hands and then spent the rest of the time watching and taking photos after they spread more feed on the ground. The guides answered questions and you left at your leisure (within reason). This was one of the highlights of my Scotland trip, and well worth it!

Me and my family loved it here! It cost us £20 for 2 adults and 2 children. But according to my 10 year old son it was well worth it because he loved it! So that’s the best review you can get. The visitors centre part is very new, very informative and clean. I learned new things about reindeer. The kids got a quiz sheets to do whilst they went round also which was a nice touch because they love that sort of thing. There were 4 reindeer to see (and more out of you want to go for a longer walk). A great experience. The staff were lovely too. Really friendly and great with the kids. Thank you.

My partner and I had such an amazing experience here. The hike up to the location was easy enough, though we went during winter so proper gear was essential! Good waterproofs and hiking boots are definitely needed in the colder weather. The reindeers were so sweet and the staff were very informative, giving us all the information about the herd. Would definitely visit again!

Amazing experience! Staff clearly look after the reindeer well and were friendly and informative. The reindeer have a huge amount of land to roam and are very comfortable being around humans - especially when there was food to be had! I was very pleased to see the no petting rule too; animal welfare coming first as it should. Getting to feed them from your hand is such a special experience and a great way of letting people touch the reindeer without causing them stress. Bit of a walk to get there (about 20-30mins), lovely views. Wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. Also found the system a bit convoluted; seems it would be simpler to walk from the centre or to meet and check bookings at the second car park.

Visitors say this reindeer center offers a unique opportunity to see and hand-feed reindeer up close, with options for a hill hike or paddock visit. They also highlight the knowledgeable and friendly staff who genuinely care for the animals. Many mention it's a worthwhile experience for all ages, recommending booking tickets in advance and dressing appropriately for the weather.
