Bala Barns - Berwyn

Photo: Bala Barns

Rolling hills and farmland surround Bala Barns - Berwyn, a ground-floor cottage in the village of Bala in Gwynedd. The property opens onto working countryside where walking routes start from your door, with Snowdonia National Park and Bala Lake within reach for days out. A enclosed patio and garden look out over the surrounding landscape.

The cottage sleeps four across two twin rooms. The living space is open-plan, combining the lounge, kitchen and dining area so everyone gathers in one room. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly. A single shower room serves the property. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome, though it must be kept on a lead as the area is sheep country. There is parking for up to four cars on site.

The setting suits families and small groups wanting outdoor space and easy access to walking. Bala 4x4 is nearby for anyone after more structured adventure. Check-in is after 16:00 and checkout before 10:00. No smoking inside.

Lovely place with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Admittedly, we didn't spend too much time in the cottage itself during our long weekend stay as we were busy out enjoying the beauty of Snowdonia most of the time. But, we enjoyed being able to come back to a hot bath, everything we needed to make some home cooked meals and a smart TV to watch films. The views from the barns are lovely and they are very dog friendly. Would definitely visit again in future!

Spent 5 days at Bala barns in a lovely cottage (Hirnant). Great location for our trips out and has superb views towards Bala and the surrounding hills and country side. Cottage was clean, cosy, warm and contained everything we required. Good communication through out, met by the friendly owner Susan on arrival and showed around, milk in the fridge and tea and coffee to get you started. Will recommend to family and friends.

Wonderful rooms with everything you could need, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet rolls, towels, washing up liquid, soap and shampoo. Was lovely and clean and the views were lovely. The staff were so friendly and I would highly recommend it.

Just spent a week in Tegid cottage absolutely beautiful place and the accommodation was fantastic with fabulous hospitality. Ideal place for visiting North Wales, just a few miles from Bala we managed to visit most of the northern area, Betws-y-Coed, Capel Curig, Llanberis, Beaumaris, Llandudno, Conwy, Llyn Tegid, Lyme Vrynwy, Pistyll Rhyder falls, and much more. Definitely a place to visit if you’re looking for something special. Not even storm Eowyn could spoil this for us, especially as a tree brought down the electric line near the cottage, Sue a property owner was well prepared with a standby generator that managed to keep some low voltage for us, some lighting, tv etc she was checking in on us offering extra throws and candles and filling us up with coffee. Highly recommended.
